Using Gly-Oxide after a wisdom tooth extraction?

I was supposed to have a wisdom tooth extraction, instead I had my gums cut to only find there was no tooth in there. They stitched it back up. So I'm wondering if its safe to use gly-oxide to help me keep it clean?
