Try to be with her the entire time unless she asks you to wait behind while she talks to her friends, if not, then you should join her. Dance every dance with her unless you're both too tired and want to just hang out and talk during a song. Offer to get her punch or whatever kind of refreshments you kids have at dances nowadays.
